The Pop-Off Occlusion Valve gives the operator of the anesthesia system the option to manually ventilate the patient/subject without closing down the pop-off valve on the rebreathing system and/or the Bain Style Nonrebreathing Circuit Block.

  • 22 mm female on one end, 19 mm male on opposite end
  • The spring-loaded button, when depressed, will occlude the release orifice of the pop-off valve on the anesthesia system
  • This occlusion will allow the operator to momentarily put pressure in the subject’s/patient’s airways by gently squeezing the reservoir bag on the rebreathing/nonrebreathing system
  • The pressure generated can be measured and visualized with the manometer (cmH2O)
  • When the button is released, the occlusion is removed and gases are free to flow towards the WAG management system
  • One benefit to this system is that the pop-off valve on the anesthesia system does not ever need to be closed down, and consequently there is less risk of dangerously high airway pressures building up in the system
